Guideline Q&A

Who needs a mentoring session? Each student has his/her own requirement for mentoring sessions. In general, a Computer Science student is required to have a mentoring session once an academic year, or if you have a registration block due to missing mentoring sessions. Please check the registrater or Prof. Joseph Iannelli if you are unsure about whether you need a mentoring session.

How and when to arrange a mentoring session? To schedule an appointment, check the link under Section "request a mentoring session". Please note: mentoring session is by appointment only. You shall plan ahead and reserve a mentoring session as soon as you know that you would need a mentoring session. The frequency and availability of mentoring sessions decrease as a semester progresses, so DO NOT wait till last minute.NOTE: no mentoring session during Winter and Summer breaks.

What is next step after I complete my mentoring session? I will sign the mentoring form you bring in. You would need to request an advising meeting using e-advising gateway, to submit the signed form and to have the registration block removed.
